Cooking... a la Pioneer Woman....

Tonight, we made a Pioneer Woman recipe - Shrimp Pasta with Tomato Cream Sauce.  It was extra yummy and I reccomend you go and whip up a batch RIGHT now.  The girls loved it - which is saying something considering they watched me add onion AND garlic - TWO of their arch enemies. The leftovers are currently in a gallon size bag in the fridge for tomorrow.

Just for the record, it turns out that ALLL her recipes are yummy.  Farmhouse approved.

UPDATE -

• One of SB's stitches came out.  EEESH.  She is now fearing the moment when her finger will surely turn black and fall off.  AND THEN what would MIMI say?
• We bought plants and dirt for the gardens.  That was all I could muster.  Planting tomorrow.
• Saw Kung Fu Panda today.  Really wanted to see Sex and The City instead.  Damn.

The Joy of (internet) Cooking.

About two years ago, I found Janet's Pumpkin Dip recipe - and it became a requested fall favorite at The Farmhouse.  It's simple to make, and tastes extra yummy with gingersnaps.  Occasionally, at a fallish function, one of my guests demands to know where I am hiding the Pumpkin Dip.  I am not usually hiding it, of course - they are just too late, I say as I wipe ginger snap from my chin.

Then, this weekend, I discovered The Pioneer Woman.  Yes. I am behind.  Way behind. Light years behind. However, the Pioneer Woman, cow ropin, kid wranglin', picture taken' country diva who frequently posts pictures of calf testicles, is now one of my favorite women on the internets.  Seriously. How could I not love her?  However, her love of calf testicles has nothing to do with her famed Recipes section (she doesn't cook them, or serve them to her family, so please calm down).  The greatest part about her recipes?  She provides plenty of photos to make your mouth water, and of course, to show you exactly what your food SHOULD look like.

So, this weekend I tried her Onion Straw recipe.... and they were a huge hit... even with the under-eleven set. I think I'll add them to my repotoire, right underneath Pumpkin Dip.

Hey, it's better than calf testicles.
